Bye for now
So a disappointing day for Eagles fans there’s still plenty of fallout to come and we’ll keep you up to date wth any news on McGovern, bye for now!
Discipline still hurting the Eagles
It sparked a run if five straight goals when Dom Sheed gave away an unnecessary 50m free kick.
The match wrap
How would you sum it up in three words?
BOG
Daicos is the clear best on gorunf with 36 touches seven clearances and a goal. Incidentally, Reid finished with 17 touches, three clearances and one behind. That’s the gap. Alex Witherdan maybe had his best game for the Eagles with 30 touches 12 intercept possesion and going at 90 per cent efficiency
FULL TIME Collingwood 15.13 (103) West Coast 5.7 (37)
A late behind from Reid who can’t quite squeeze it through the traffic but the Eagles at least win the quarter. Their second half was better although it’s worth noting Collingwood were two men down after half time and had basically just one on the bench for the last quarter. The reigning premiers are in the eight for the first time this season.
Rare Edwards goal
Luke Edwards becomes the unlikely man to get another goal for the Eagles, He’s only kicked one other goal in his career which also came against the Pies back in 2022. It’s built off some nice work through the middle with the Pies tiring with Howe, Bytel and Harrison injured.
Dacois gets another
More fight from the Eagles but the Pies are too much as Josh Daicos catches Ginbey holding the ball who kicks his first.
