We bet the owners of this sprawling hills abode didn’t mind one bit when they forced to stay at home during the early stages of the pandemic.

They designed the resort-style residence — which was built by NuLook Homes in 2011 — in what is arguably one of the best spots in Darlington to take in the sweeping valley and city views.

Now looking to downsize, the owners have listed the property for sale for the first time since building their dream home.

Designed to meld with its natural bushland and rocky granite surrounds, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom showstopper offers panoramic views from just about every vantage point.

If you’re not too distracted by the magical vista to cook, the kitchen offers Carrara marble benchtops, a Teppanyaki hotplate and modern appliances.

Stackable floor to ceiling glass doors ensure the dreamy views aren’t obstructed while reverse cycle air-conditioning allows for year-round comfort.

The games room includes a cosy fireplace while the timber decked alfresco is within easy reach of the kitchen for breezy summertime entertaining.

The solar heated pool looks enticing even if Perth’s weather isn’t and there is a cabana with kitchenette to laze around in on balmy afternoons.

While you may feel like you’re a million miles away from the hustle and bustle on this 4.49ha patch of paradise, the property is only 30 minutes from the CBD and less than 2km from the nearest school.

Conveniently, it is also within walking distance of the local shops.

There are good kitchens and then there’s this Mosman Park beauty, which won the 2019 HIA WA Kitchen of the Year Award.

Every element was considered in the design to maximise space, including the breakfast bar and sink-free island which provide plenty of workable space.

It features Miele appliances, a walk-in pantry/appliance room, and even an office nook — who wouldn’t want to be close to the fridge while working from home?

The wow factor doesn’t stop there, with the three-bedroom, two-bathroom family home including three levels of living, a theatre room with built-in bar, a master bedroom with walk-in robes, inviting freestanding baths, and an spacious balcony to take in lovely river views, and even aspects out to the ocean.

Those worried about tackling three levels of stairs as they age have been catered for with the inclusion of a lift.

As we finally enter Perth’s glorious warmer months, the outdoor gardens and saltwater pool provide the perfect spot to cool down and unwind.

The modern stone flooring is balanced with rich timber panelling and American Walnut cabinetry to give the beautiful home a warm and inviting ambience.

When shopping for a new home, a tight-knit community is often high on the wishlist, and it doesn’t get much tighter than in this Beaconsfield street.

When Rob and Ali Biddiscombe purchased their quaint timber cottage in Fremantle’s neighbouring suburb almost four decades ago, they never dreamt their little street’s incredible sense of community would create an extended family of neighbours.

During the couple’s 38 years at the property, they have helped stage neighbourhood events including Christmas parties, craft stalls, garage sales and the annual Airing of the Quilts as part of Festival Fremantle.

The Airing of the Quilts began when residents realised there were six of them quietly sewing in their homes and it soon became a Festival of Fremantle project for several years.

Additionally, the small street is brimming with children, with Ali leaving a toybox out the front (which will come with the house sale so the tradition can live on) for the kids to play.

Originally built in 1948, the charming home has been extended to include three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There are multiple living areas as well as a limestone and cedar extension – partially built by Rob, a stonemason – and a near-new master suite with an ensuite and character lounge room with an open fire.

There is a subterranean cellar/games room, stunning stained-glass windows, two of which were created by local Fremantle artists, Jarrah flooring and delightful outdoor spaces surrounded by lovingly cultivated native gardens across the 589sqm lot.

After curating half a lifetime of beautiful memories, the couple has listed the property for sale as they prepare to downsize.
