SEE THE NOMINEES: The Aussies in with a chance for Oscars glory

Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi are the household names leading the Aussie charge at the Oscars, but Australia’s best chance of snatching a gold statue might be in a behind-the-scenes category.
Horror-musical Sinners has a record 16 nominations, including Guido Wolter for best visual effects.
He was born in Germany but has made his mark on the silver screen from Rising Sun Pictures in Adelaide and is considered a contender though he has stiff competition from Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The stars of the screen will hit the red carpet for the 98th Academy Awards as the sun rises in Perth on Monday, but the party had already started in Hollywood.
Nicole Kidman was among those at the traditional pre-Oscars party at the famous Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunday, hosted by Chanel.
She’ll be presenting an award, as will Rose Byrne who is also nominated and was an early favourite for best actress for the comedy-drama If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. She won the Golden Globe (comedy/musical), but is up against Jessie Buckley who has swept the other major awards for Hamnet.
Rising star Jacob Elordi is nominated for Best Supporting Actor, for his role as ‘The Creature’ in Frankenstein.
Production designer Fiona Crombie, nominated for Hamnet, and musician Nick Cave, nominated for Best Original Song in Train Dreams, make it five nominations for Australia.
Sinners and One Battle After Another are the lead contenders for the coveted Best Picture award, up against Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value and Train Dreams.
Australian viewers can follow all the action live on Seven Network, with coverage beginning at 6.30am WA time.
