Kimberley cousins Dwes and Katherine Dann set to be WA’s new reality TV stars on The Amazing Race Australia
Kimberley cousins Dwes Wiggan-Dann and Katherine Dann are set to beWA’s deadly new reality TV stars.
The duo will represent the State in the upcoming season of The Amazing Race Australia, which will see teams tackle the great Australian outback instead of the usual globetrotting format.
Wiggan-Dann is a 32-year-old proud gay man from One Arm Point, north of Broome, and hopes he can use his time in the TV spotlight to become a “positive role model for young Aboriginal children”.
Despite missing out on the round-the-world ticket thanks to COVID-19, WA’s vastness and geographical diversity has prepared the regional-based cousins for the challenge of a lifetime.
But the reality race holds nothing against the experience of Cable Beach Football Club player Dann’s as a single mother — a challenge that has prepared her mentally and physically for a shot at the $250,000 prize.
“Trying to do it all and build a life that’s suitable for your child challenges me every day,” she explained.
The 10 reality show will see the cousins pitted against 14 other teams — including cowboys, a “power” couple and set of siblings — when the race hits screens from February 1.
