Aussie screen queens Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie turned heads in Sydney on Thursday as they led a string of the nation’s greatest entertainment exports to the Chanel Cruise 2026/27 runway at Barangaroo’s The Cutaway.
Celebrating the luxury French fashion house’s first ever runway shows in Australia, Chanel ambassador Kidman arrived in a black blazer and pants, joined by her youngest of two teenage daughters, Faith Margaret.
While Robbie — also an official representative for the brand — wore a sheer white frock and floral embellishment as her famous blonde tresses hung above shoulder length.
Sitting beside the pair in the front row was WA surfing talent Jack Robinson, who partnered with Chanel earlier this year to promote its J12 timepiece.
Other stars in attendance across the two-show day included Olympic champion Cathy Freeman, pop princess Kylie Minogue, filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, and DJ Dom Dolla.
Bruno Pavlovsky, the long-time president of fashion at Chanel, said Australia was primed for such an event.
“To go to the next step for the brand, and that is the reason why it was part of our plan. It’s no news that we wanted to do something very unique and special here in Australia, and we are ready now,” he told The Australian.
“That’s the reason why we push the button to be able to do it.”
The runway shows coincided with the opening of a new Chanel flagship store in Sydney, along with a renovated Melbourne outlet to be unveiled later this month.
