Jeep Grand Cherokee recalled

FCA Australia is recalling almost 3000 examples of the current-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee for an issue with defective bolts.

UPDATE, 30/04/2024 6:48pm – Stellantis Australia has advised the recall notice published by the Department of Infrastructure – which cautioned the wheels may detach from the vehicle while driving – has incorrect wording.

“Stellantis Australia is working with the Department of Infrastructure to have this rectified,” said a company spokesperson.

“The upper control arm retaining bolts may have been damaged during vehicle assembly,” the company says in its recall notice.

“A loss of clamp load may result in your vehicle’s front wheel leaning outward which could lead to an accident and serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”

• A total of 2854 vehicles are affected from 2021 to 2023, and includes both two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L models
