ADCA 2025-26: Royals cruise to Twenty20 B-grade crown as Trigwell pulls the trigger against Collingwood Park

A spell of magic from seamer Dylan Trigwell helped Royals clinch the Albany and Districts Cricket Association Twenty20 B-grade grand final on Sunday.

Player-of-the-match Trigwell took three wickets at a cost of only four runs as Royals dispatched Collingwood Park for 72 and swept past their opponent’s total with the loss of only two wickets.

Veteran Craig Tonkin was best with the bat for Park until he became Trigwell’s first victim, well caught in the deep by Ryan Davies for 23.

Other than Tonkin, only JP Swart reached double figures, ending unbeaten on 11, as Park’s innings lasted only 16.1 overs.

Trigwell (3-4) bowled just 3.1 overs but removed Dane Christensen for a golden duck, Cameron Newbold taking the catch, and Max Robinson for two, caught by Jarrad Dawson.

Dame Leo took 2-11 while Royals’ co-captain Newbold contributed a run-out as well as the catch.

Shane Manser (22) carried his bat in the Royals’ reply and hit the four which clinched victory, but Davies walloped 35 off 18 balls to be top scorer as his side won in the 13th over.

Davies was caught by Robson Nielsen off Swart’s bowling having blasted five fours and a six in a quality knock.

Evan Pretorius was the other not-out batter, with 11 runs.

The A-grade T20 final is scheduled for Thursday evening with Royals seeking to do the double.

They will tackle Manypeaks in the short-format showpiece on Turf North from 4.30pm.

Round 19 of the ADCA A-grade season will be played on Saturday, with Railways up against Mt Barker, Park facing the Lions and Peaks up against Denmark.
