
A prescribed burn that escaped its boundaries twice in two days and sparked a bushfire advice in Kalgan and Manypeaks has been brought under control.
Thirteen appliances from the Kalgan, Napier, South Coast, King River, Highway and Manypeaks bushfire brigades worked bring the fire back under control by about 6pm on Wednesday.
The blaze burnt through 287ha before being contained.
Crews remain on scene mopping up.
This was the second time the prescribed burn escaped crews control, with the second unplanned bushfire first reported at 2.15pm on Wednesday near Palmdale Road and South Coast Highway in Kalgan.
The bush advice that was in place for people in the area bounded by Deep Creek Road, Mindijup Road, Fishtrack Road, Homestead Road, west of Waychinicup Road to Benson Road has been downgraded to a reduced threat.

While there is no threat to lives or homes, there is a lot of smoke in the area.
The first escaped burn started at the same location at 1.10pm on Tuesday.
It burnt through 2ha of a plantation before firefighters were able to regain control of it at 2.45pm.
South Coast Highway between Dempster Road and Deep Creek Road, and Palmdale Road between Fishtrack Road and South Coast Highway have been reopened with speed restrictions in place.
