Truth seekers from across the South West are invited to a series of talks by esteemed Buddhist monk and teacher Hasapanna next weekend.

The Busselton Augusta-Margaret River Buddhist Initiative, as part of the Buddhist Society of WA, will co-ordinate visits from Ajahn (teacher) Hasapanna to Margaret River, Dunsborough, Busselton and Nannup.

Ajahn Hasapanna is the abbot of Gidgegannup’s Dhammasara Monastery and the assistant spiritual director for BSWA.

It is her first teaching tour of the South West.

Witchcliffe-based BAMBI convenor Sol Hanna said the lecture series — which included a practical meditation — would suit non-Buddhists and anyone seeking inner peace. “The talks will cover a range of topics, all related to meditation and spiritual development,” he said.

“These topics vary from ‘overcoming fear’ to ‘happiness is a choice’.

“This isn’t just philosophising, but a practical hands-on tutorial around how to look within and understand our habits of mind, and how to steer them into more useful, peaceful directions.”

The series starts in Busselton on Friday at 6.30pm, followed by talks in Dunsborough on Saturday at 5pm, Sunday morning in Nannup, and 5pm on Sunday at Fair Harvest in Margaret River.

All the talks are free, with donations welcome. To get involved, visit BAMBI’s Facebook page or email sol@bswa.org.
