Local producers Jardin Estate were “almost speechless” at their recent win at the 2020 delicious magazine awards. The estate’s salted butter won gold in the national contest, following a State victory in May. The farmer’s market regular, run by former Margaret River Wine Association CEO Nick Power and his wife Margaret, said the cream on top of the award was nomination in the contest by “a leading Australian chef”. “To have people in the restaurant and food industry consider our salted butter worthy of nomination and to go on and achieve a WA win and now a gold medal in the national judging is something that we are absolutely thrilled with and extremely proud,” Mr Power said. “We were also thunderstruck when the judging panel comprised food palates such as Colin Fassnidge, Matt Moran, Neil Perry and Peter Gilmore.” Mr Power said the butter will still be available to shoppers at their stall or through the estate.
