The call has gone out for another community group to run next year’s Australia Day breakfast celebration after the Margaret River Lions Club said it would no longer be involved after 12 years. In a Shire of Augusta-Margaret River statement on Wednesday, club president Vangucci said it was time for another club to step up. “The Australia Day Brekky has been a great chance to connect with the community and acknowledge our shared history,” he said. “Now it’s time for us to make way for a new group to have a go.” The Shire would tip in $1000 for the event.
