With yet another booming season coming up, the Margaret River Basketball Association is desperate for volunteer adult coaches. The strength of registrations mean more than 80 coaches were needed for the junior competition. Association spokeswoman Kellene Harvey said there was a huge growth in player numbers — up 25 per cent on last season. “We urgently need coaches and a lot of them, around 87,” she said. “Coaching isn’t hard. “We keep it simple. “If you are able to teach some basic ball skills, know how to have some fun with the kids, we want to hear from you.” Working with children cards are needed for anyone aged over 18 who is not a parent of players.
