The group setting up a community childcare centre in Augusta will run a local market at Flinders Bay on Sunday. Augusta and Districts Community Childcare continues fundraising for the centre to be established in the Augusta Recreation Centre, with a raffle outside Augusta’s IGA tomorrow accompanied by children’s activities and gift wrapping for a donation. Sunday’s market starts at 8am and runs until about 11am. “All stalls are from within the shire and everything is locally made or locally grown,” a spokeswoman said. “Let’s support the creative talents of these local small businesses. “It’s a magical way to do your Christmas shopping, or find yourself something unique. It’s also a great opportunity for social connection amongst our community.” Last-minute stallholders keen to exhibit were also encouraged to get in touch via the group’s Facebook page.
