The redeveloped Margaret River Heart staged its first season of big-name shows this week with a two-night run from WA veterans the Waifs.

Both nights were close to sold out to a 400-capacity crowd, with punters raving about the refurbished venue.

With plenty of ties to its cultural centre origins, the Heart added top-quality performance standards to the music, with The Waifs the first of future touring acts planned for Margaret River and which will underpin the venue’s viability.

Heart marketing and events officer Tanya Jackson told the Times the performances had audiences buzzing.

“We’ve had great feedback about the acoustics and the venue in general,” she said.

“It’s so exciting to see the building become a gathering place for people to experience fun, entertainment and culture.

“We can’t wait to put on more events and shows for the community in the near future.”
