Two local junior soccer players have been selected to represent the region in the UK next month.

Felix Rice, 14, and Ben Cox, 13, are two of 15 players chosen by Football Federation South West to participate in the “be a pro” tour, and will hold a fundraiser tomorrow for their trip.

The FFSW UK tour is in its third year and technical director Jack Eades said it was an opportunity for the boys to experience what it took to be a professional player.

The team will play four games while in the UK, against Arsenal, Tottenham, Norwich and Histon FC youth squads.

“During the trip, players will live the life of a young professional footballer through their training, diet, recovery and education as well as many more exciting activities and experiences,” Eades said.

“We will have access to a sport science department as well as UEFA qualified coaches that will work with our young players on and off the training ground.

“We are extremely excited to be able to offer this fantastic experience to our players within the South West for a third time and we hope with the support of fundraising we can make the dream a reality.”

Felix and Ben will be at Bunnings tomorrow for a sausage sizzle fundraiser.

A wood raffle donated by Cowaramup Lions and a fire pit raffle donated by Snappa’s Light Fabrications will also be held tomorrow to raise money.
