Margaret River Bowling Club was the winner of the 2018 Men’s Pennants.

It was a fantastic game between Augusta and Margaret River, played on the new greens at Margaret River last weekend.

The winning teams, led by skippers Jeff Eastcott and Mick Pepper, were Colin Nairn, Frank Beswick, Greg Bussell, Peter Bayliss, Colin Maylor and Clint Nagtegaal.

This was a back-to-back victory for the teams.

Dunsborough were division 2 premiers, playing Cowaramup.

Their skippers were Ian Greagh and Bill Hitsert and teams were Rod Witchcombe, Bill Pearce, Mike Finney, Dennis Sharpe, Brian Marwick and Rob Prentiss.

The Advanced Hearing pairs were held early March and it was a close finish, with Mary Bussell and Ian Colmer the winners.

Second place went to Peter Coffey and Colin Maylor.

The Margaret River Bowling Club men’s singles championships were also held last month, with all matches very competitive.

Peter Giralt was named champion at the March 14 event, with Barry Coffey as runner-up.

The game was close, with Giralt holding on to be named the 2018 men’s singles champion.

The Plate competition was held on the same day between Tom Weham and Roger Cawsey, with Cawsey taking the 2018 title.
