The annual Carols in the Park is celebrating its 15th year of bringing the Christmas spirit to young and old alike, kicking off on Friday from 7pm. Continuing the tradition started last year due to COVID-19 restrictions, and amid growth in attendance, the Surfside Church carols will be held on the oval at Gloucester Park. Co-ordinator Kathryn Seisun said highlights this year included the high school’s River Lights Choir and a host of primary school carollers and musicians from Rapids Landing, Margaret River, Montessori and the Margaret River home school dance and drama group. “This Carols by Candlelight will be our biggest musical production ever,” she told the Times. “It’s sure to be an amazing night of music and singing and gathering together as a community as we celebrate the Spirit of Christmas.” Michelle Spriggs, Andrea Frances Manners and Charis Ensemble will also round out the December 10 event, with food and other vendors selling their wares along with festive candles.
