Melbourne Comedy Roadshow Tour hits Margaret River among long list of comedic acts in 2024
Margaret River’s performing arts centre is making a name for itself as the “Heart” of comedy with high-profile entertainers due to hit the region.
The first of the acts in the Melbourne International Comedy Roadshow Tour were announced this week, hot on the heels of confirmation comedy legend Arj Barker would also be hitting town later this year.
Considered the country’s premier comedy event, the Melbourne roadshow named Singaporean comic Fakkah Fuzz and Australia’s Cameron James as the first confirmed headliners ahead of their performance at the Margaret River Heart on May 24.
The well-travelled and ironically bald Fuzz boasts the honour of being the only Singaporean comic to have his own Netflix special.
Almost Banned captured the energetic comedian’s style of risque comedy admired for pushing boundaries.
Actor, comedian and writer James is well known to Australian audiences from his podcast as well as numerous television appearances, including as a guest actor on Stan show Bump and a panelist on the ABC’s Gruen series.
James built his following as a stand-alone content creator online, parlaying the success of his massively popular Finding Drago and Finding Desperado podcasts into a career that has included his own ABC special.
He’s also poised to tour his new show Mixtape nationwide later this year.
Arts Margaret River has also confirmed comic Barker will come to Margaret River on September 14.
A staple of Australian comedy despite his American roots, Barker’s tickets were already on sale via the Arts Margaret River website.
The Heart is boasting plenty more comedy coming up, with Irish-Australian legend Jimeoin performing on May 3, Joel Creasey in July and “country and western comedian” Brad Cox on April 24.
More acts for the Melbourne International Comedy Roadshow Tour will be announced soon.
The roadshow is a 135-minute show with a 20-minute interval. Tickets start from $55 and there are discounts for members.
