One of the biggest cranes in Australia has been working at the Perimeter Road site during the past two weeks, installing a $9 million bridge.

The 650-tonne, 86m-high crane arrived in Margaret River on 61 semitrailers and took more than a week to assemble.

The Times was invited to the site on Tuesday, where the crane hoisted a 70-tonne box girder onto the bridge, which took about an hour.

The crane is the same one booked to install the pedestrian bridge at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
