Direct flights from Melbourne to the South West have been pushed back yet again. Ongoing COVID-19 ructions over east, and transition of NSW to an “extreme” high risk category, will see the flights now pencilled in for November 10. Jetstar’s long-promised first commercial passenger flights connecting Busselton-Margaret River Airport and Melbourne were now delayed eight times. A Jetstar spokesman confirmed the date change, declaring the travel giant was committed to the route despite the pandemic challenges. It’s understood customers affected by the change will be contacted and offered options, including refunds. Flights between the two tourist hot spots were halted in March last year because of the pandemic outbreak, and have been rescheduled multiple times since.
