Peer into forensics at Margaret River High School talk
Margaret River Senior High School will host award-winning science professor Simon Lewis on May 3 to give an insight into the world of forensics.
Professor Lewis is billed as a “wonderful, engaging and entertaining” presenter who is passionate about forensic science.
He will be delving into the case of Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal, who was found with his daughter Yulia, slumped on a park bench in Salisbury, England, in March, 2018.
Within days, it became apparent the pair had been poisoned with a nerve agent developed by the Russian military.
The presentation will give a case study of the events and the investigation that led to the identification and charging of two Russian military intelligence operatives with the attack.
The free event is suitable for those aged 12 and over. It starts at 6.30pm in the school auditorium. Bookings, on 9757 0700, can be made from April 29. A light supper funded by the Lions Club will follow the seminar.
