A workshop guided by two of Australia’s most accomplished screen directors, Margaret River’s Richard Todd (Dying to Live, Frackman) and Daniel Nettheim (Dr Who, Dance Academy) will form part of the extensive list of events at next week’s CinefestOZ Film Festival.

Todd told The Times the two-day workshop would involve 10 WA directors taking part. On day one they will be discussing the craft of directing, and on day two each participant will pitch a project idea and then be given advice on how to have it funded and screened.

One of the directors who will be taking part is Ben Young, whose Netflix film Extinction will also screen at the festival.

Todd said the calibre of directors chosen to take part in the workshop was “extremely high”.

Dying to Live, Todd’s documentary about organ donation, will also screen at the festival, on August 25 from 12pm at Orana Cinemas.
