Private operators will judge the success of a drive-through COVID-19 clinic which opened in Busselton on Monday before making any decision about rolling the service out in Margaret River.

Anecdotal feedback suggested coronavirus testing numbers had waned in the South West because of the State’s strong measures to contain the disease.

Clinipath Pathology chief executive Dr Narelle Hadlow said demand in Margaret River would need to be assessed.

“We will review how these work and certainly then consider other South West locations, including Margaret River,” she said.

“We have had good support from the Department of Health to consider further services, if they are needed, which is much appreciated.”
