Augusta Margaret River Times

An Italian national has been charged in relation to an early hours crash in Forest Grove on New Year’s Day, in which a woman sustained serious injuries.

Major Crash officers will allege the man was driving a Ford sedan on the incorrect side of Bussell Highway, when it collided head on with a Subaru sedan travelling south at around 3.40am.

As a result of the collision, the Subaru ignited and the driver, a woman in her 50s, required assistance from a passing motorist to exit the vehicle.

She was flown by RAC Rescue helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
