There was a strong turnout for the first Margaret River Lantern Festival last Friday night.

With weather conditions favourable, the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River’s Youth Advisory Committee-designed event drew a big crowd of young families venturing out after dark to follow a street parade of youngsters with their handmade lanterns.

The YAC parade ventured from the Margaret River Festival Precinct to the Shire’s youth precinct, via Ruether Park.

Crowds received a welcome to country from Zac Webb before performances and roller-skating from YAC members and other residents.
