Youth festival packs Margaret River’s fiesta precinct
Perfect weather, good music, community stalls and the support of the World Surf League made for a bumper evening at the Fearn Avenue festival precinct on Tuesday.
The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River’s youth advisory committee-led festival drew more than just youngsters with hundreds of people packing the space to watch live bands and enjoy the festivities.
Food trucks as well as fundraising food stalls run by groups such as the Cowaramup Bay Boardriders Club enhanced the autumn offering.
Shire acting chief executive Arthur Kyron was ecstatic at the response, saying the festival right in the town centre was exactly what people needed.
Local police were also on hand doing their best to show their skills on the 3x3 basketball court.
Station chief Sgt Simone Taplin also said it was a positive event for young people and contributed to Margaret River’s strong community feeling.
