Grab a Bunnings daffodil to help fund cancer research in Bunbury

Cancer Council WA has joined forces with Bunnings stores in the South West in its mission to raise funds for cancer research through this year’s Daffodil Day Appeal. Cancer Council WA’s South West regional education officer Julie Rose said buying a bunch of daffodils from Bunnings was one way to get involved and help raise funds for live-saving cancer research. “Cancer Council are hoping to raise more than $2.5 million for cancer research through this year’s Daffodil Day,” she said. “Daffodil Day is Cancer Council’s most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign and 2024 marks the 38th year of Daffodil Day in Australia. With fundraising under pressure, it is more important than ever to ensure we support the work of our cancer researchers, so we are grateful to have Bunnings on board.” Ms Rose said the money went towards cutting-edge, life-saving research to give Australians hope for a cancer-free future. Daffodil Day is on August 22 but the community can donate or hold a fundraiser at any time in August. Daffodils can be purchased from Bunnings Bunbury on August 21 from 9am to 2pm and Bunnings Australind on August 23 during the same time period, or until sold out.
