Reigning premiers Busselton kicked off their Onshore Cup Football Association title defence in style, thrashing Dalyellup in Saturday’s opener at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

The Bombers got the jump in the opening term and never looked back, winning 17.24 (126) to 0.1 (1) in cool conditions.

Led by Shay Pascall and Kim Harper, the home side was extremely resourceful in the corridor, which led to the bulk of their scoring opportunities.

In turn, when they didn’t have the ball, the Bombers applied excellent physical pressure which made life extremely difficult for the Eagles.

Despite the heavy defeat, Benjamin Brown worked hard in defence for the Eagles, while Damien Newman also did some good things.

In other matches, Blake Wilson booted five goals for the Dunsborough Mulies in their 25.17 (167) to 1.1 (7) trouncing of the Boyanup Boars — while Augusta secured early bragging rights after seeing off Vasse 6.8 (44) to 3.8 (26).
