Close to 1000 hockey players are in the region for the 2018 Australian Women’s Masters Hockey Championships.

The tournament started yesterday and will continue until Saturday, October 6, with 93 matches to be played at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium and 47 at the Busselton Hockey Stadium across the competition.

More than 40 teams will represent seven age divisions, ranging from over-35 to over-65.

Earlier this year, the State Government signed a deal to fund the competition in the South West, as well as the Australian Men’s Masters Hockey Championships next year.

The championships are also supported by the Cities of Busselton and Bunbury, and Hockey Australia.

Busselton players Kerry Cox, Kelley Robinson and Lisa Hodge are involved with the competition and invite the community to come and support them.
