Busselton too strong for Donnybrook

Busselton Football Club’s women’s team emerged mighty against the Donnybrook women, defeating them by 36 points in the first game of the South West Football League season.

The Magpies women dominated the contest early, kicking three first-half goals to none.

The tackling pressure was of a high standard throughout the game, with Busselton keen to demonstrate their experience and strength as rain began pouring down at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

An inaccurate Donnybrook surged in the third term, holding Busselton to no score and kicking seven behinds of their own, but were unable to find the middle for their first goal in league history.

The outer wing saw a lot of action during the game, with Donnybrook holding firm in defence.

But Busselton broke through to score three goals in the final quarter and improve their percentage.
