Failure to self-isolate charge

WA Police Force have charged the first person to who failed to comply with a direction to self-isolate.

The 61-year-old man from Carlisle allegedly returned to Western Australia from Indonesia yesterday.

A member of the public contacted police regarding his intention to travel to the beach.

Under the Western Australian Emergency Management Act, anyone who has returned from overseas is required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

Police will alleged the man failed to self-quarantine, and was subsequently charged with one count of failure to comply with direction.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
