Popular dog walk given a boost

Catherine MasseyBusselton Dunsborough Times

Tomorrow’s annual Rainbow Dog Walk on the Busselton foreshore has been given a boost with the Margaret River Chocolate Company donating $2,000.

The popular dog walk is organised by Busselton’s Pride Alliance and aims to raise support for the Busselton LGBTIQ+ community.

MRCC owners Patrick Coward and Martin Black said they were proud to sponsor the event.

Event organiser Yvonne Innes said the generous donation was a “sweet surprise” and her volunteer committee was overwhelmed by the gesture.

“Last year we raised $2,000 for the hospice and this year we can probably expect to double that thanks to our fabulous local sponsor,” she said.

Ms Innes said the event grew every year to help integrate Busselton’s diverse community.
