Western Power has restored power to all South West customers after a damage to a transmission pole left about 7,300 households and businesses without power.

Households and businesses in Margaret River, Cowaramup, Prevelly, Gracetown, Witchcliffe, Rosa Brook, Gnarabup, Wilyabrup, Redgate, Treeton, Bramley, Yallingup, Metricup, Dunsborough, and Woodanilling were without power this morning.

However, Network Operations and field crews restored power to all homes about mid-day today by back-feeding power through the distribution network.

Back-feeding is an interim measure while repairs to the transmission network are carried out.

The cause of the fault has believed to be from a broken insulator and damaged cross arm on a transmission pole that feeds the area.

Repairs are expected to be completed by late this afternoon.
