Truck fire closes Hayes Road

A mechanical fault caused a truck to catch fire this morning in Quindalup forcing the closure of Hayes road.

The truck was engulfed in fire with the driver luckily escaping uninjured before his vehicle was destroyed.

Around 8.32am the Department of Fire and Emergency services received a call with appliances from Dunsborough, Margaret River, Busselton and Cowaramup Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services and Dunsborough Bushfire Brigade able to contain the fire by 9.13am.

The fire was fully extinguished at 11.02am with City of Busselton community emergency services manager Blake Moore closing the road due to the continued threat of a road hazard.

Dunsborough police sergeant Jane Gillam attended the fire and said the blaze was non suspicious.
