COVID-19 booster shots could be rolled out across Australia by Christmas with the TGA expected to make a decision imminently

Australia’s medical regulator has approved coronavirus vaccine booster shots for the general public.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration on Wednesday gave provisional approval for Australians 18 and over to receive a top-up dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The regulator recommended the booster shot be given at least six months after a person’s second dose.

People with severely compromised immune systems are already eligible for a third jab.
