Mexican authorities confirmed the parents of Callum and Jake identified the bodies of their sons on Sunday.

The brothers are believed to have been murdered by thieves trying to steal their ute for its tyres.

Martin and Debra Robinson arrived in Mexico on Sunday and were photographed leaving the Baja California Forensic Medical Service’s morgue in Ensenada with local authorities.

The bodies were later confirmed to be those of Callum and Jake and their US friend Jack Carter Rhoad, the Baja California attorney general’s office said in a statement.

“The confirmation comes after the victims’ families were able to identify them, without the need for genetic testing,” it said.
