VideoPolice are hunting for a home invader who attacked a man in East Victoria Park and took off in his silver Subaru

Police are hunting a robber who held up a man in his East Victoria Park home at gun point last night.

The intruder forced his way into the Mint Street home about 11:50pm.

Police said he then assaulted and threatened to kill a man in his 60s, before stealing his car and fleeing the scene.

At the time the victim believes the intruder was armed with a hand gun.

A next door neighbour and her son said they woke up to slamming car doors and banging sounds.

The victim had only returned home a few hours earlier and was shaken but physically unharmed.

A short time later the stolen car, a 2018 silver Subaru Forester with a 1GOU 625 registration, evaded a police chase on Mercury Street in Carlisle.

It was last seen travelling west bound through the Graham Farmer Tunnel.

The suspect is described as about 20-years-old, dark-skinned, slim and 175cm tall with a moustache.

He was wearing a dark hoody, long pants, sneakers and gloves.

Cannington Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time, or have any information to contact Crime Stoppers online or call 1800 333 000.

If members of the public sight the man or the vehicle, do not approach him and call 131 444 immediately.
