A young girl has gone missing after disappearing near a shopping centre in Sydney's west.

Milina Wilks, aged 12, was last seen at a shopping centre on Hyatts Road in Plumpton at about 3.55pm on Thursday.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 155cm tall, thin build, with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Milina was last seen wearing a yellow and green school uniform, grey hooded jacket, black tracksuit pants, black and white shoes, and was carrying a black and white backpack.

Anyone with information about Milina's whereabouts is urged to contact Nepean Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
