Police are searching for a woman after a "horrific" sex crime was committed on a cognitively impaired woman in her suburban Melbourne home.

The offender entered a Noble Park home under false pretences and restrained the victim on December 10, 2019, Crime Stoppers Victoria says.

She left as a man entered the home and committed a sex crime on the victim, which Crime Stoppers has described as "horrific".

The male offender was known to the victim and has since been found by police but he won't tell them who the other offender is.

She is described as being aged in her 50s, with a solid build, average height, long dark hair and missing teeth, and is thought to frequent the Noble Park area.
