Baldivis: Fire decimates family home on Candela Parkway as occupant is treated for burns

A family home has been decimated after an angry fire tore through it in the early evening.

The blaze took hold of a home on Hillsborough Avenue in Baldivis, a suburb in Perth’s south, on Monday just after 5pm.

Nine units from Rockingham, Murdoch, Hope Valley and Baldivis VFES attended the fire, which was caused by welding being done in the home’s garage.

A man in his 30s was rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital under lights and sirens with burns.

DFES firefighters rushed to the blaze, which had been extinguished within the hour.

Fire officers were expected back on the scene, which has been corderned off, Tuesday morning.

A guard kept watch of the property overnight.
