The body of a man in his 60s has been pulled from the Margaret River surf.

Police and paramedics were called to the Surfers Point beach in Prevelly at 2.10pm on Monday, after local surfers discovered the Margaret River man’s body in the water.

It is unclear how the man died at this stage.

The grim discovery came only hours after another man, in his 30s, was medically evacuated by helicopter from the same beach after being injured in a surfing accident.

He is being treated for suspected spinal injuries at Royal Perth Hospital.

His injuries are not life threatening.
