A house in Perth’s northern suburbs has been destroyed after being entirely engulfed by flames this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the fire on Farnesian Circle in Mirrabooka at about 5:10pm.

Firefighters — supported by six fire trucks — managed to prevent flames from jumping the property’s boundary onto neighbouring homes.

A police spokesman said an electrical fault is believed to have caused the home to ignite.

One woman — believed to be living at the home — was taken to hospital for a medical assessment.

Her injuries are not considered serious.

In Carine, a car was photographed engulfed in flames this afternoon. No information is yet available about the cause of that fire.

The house fire comes less than 24 hours after arson squad detectives launched an investigation into a suspicious house fire in Atwell.

Emergency services were called to the Molloy Circuit property about 3.15pm on Thursday after a member of the public saw black smoke rising from the garage.

When they arrived, they found two vehicles on fire and flames spreading from the garage roof to the house.

The blaze destroyed both vehicles and caused about $200,000 worth of damage to the house.
