Ex-MP Rory Amon to fight allegations he sexually assaulted teenager

A former NSW MP accused of sexually assaulting a teenager will fight the allegations during a two-week trial.
Roderick “Rory” Amon was arrested in August 2024 and charged with a string of historical child sexual offences.
He has pleaded not guilty to five counts of having sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 14, two counts each of indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age and attempting sexual intercourse with a child aged over 10 and under 14, and one count of commit act of indecency with person under 16 years.

Mr Amon will fight the allegations before a two-week jury trial due to begin in the Supreme Court of NSW.
He arrived with his lawyer and family on Thursday morning.
Acting Justice Robert Allan Hulme will preside over the trial.
Mr Amon has maintained his innocence.
He was formerly a councillor in the Northern Beaches and an MP.
