IN PICTURES: Great Southerners celebrate their diversity and culture at the 2025 Katanning Harmony Festival

Katanning paid homage to the Great Southern’s diverse culture and community, attracting about 5000 people to the region’s biggest Harmony Week celebration on Friday and Saturday. Friday Food Night kickstarted the two-day Katanning Harmony Festival where attendees learnt about and tasted traditional cuisines from around the globe. Dancers, music, market stalls, clothing, and activities took over the town’s centre for the Saturday Street Festival where partygoers dressed up to represent their own culture while exploring their neighbours. The Harmony Parade led by Indigenous Australian representatives showcased the countless different cultures and countries flags, dress and music by those who now call the Great Southern home. Performances continued throughout the day with various dance and song groups from the area telling stories of heritage and promoting togetherness.
