The Kalgoorlie Golf Course has been ranked among the best in Australia in a list compiled by Australian Golf Digest.

Kalgoorlie’s greens came in at No.58 on the two-yearly list of Australia’s 100 best golf courses, published in the latest edition of the AGD magazine.

The course, pictured, was noted as the most isolated on the list, with judges lauding the “brilliant execution” of melding a golf course into the harshness of a desert landscape.

“To make the top 100 you are a seriously good golf course, and there is an enormous amount of work that goes into reaching those standards — so all those on the list should be very proud of their achievements,” AGD top 100 editor Steve Keipert said.

Kalgoorlie was sixth in WA, behind The Western Australian, Links Kennedy Bay, The Cut, Joondalup and Lake Karrinyup courses. The 58th placing is the highest ranking the Kalgoorlie course has achieved, up four places from 2018.
