Known for always having a smile on his face, Kalgoorlie PC Doctor’s Gabriel Trethewey is the Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry service star for January.

Mr Trethewey has been working as a technician at the local computer store for about 10 months.

While he enjoys serving customers in the store, Mr Trethewey said he also appreciated the chance to help local businesses.

“It’s pretty good to be able to go out to the businesses and also do the retail side,” he said.

“We try to focus on our retail side, whether it’s selling laptops or just repairing them.

“Our customers are really friendly and are interested in the same things we are.”

Mr Trethewey said he had been interested in computers from a young age and was grateful for the opportunity to turn his hobby into employment. “I’ve pretty much always had a computer,” he said.

“Obviously I didn’t know as much when I was a kid and it was more of a hobby, but now it’s become a job.

“I guess I knew a lot about computers so I thought I would try to find somewhere I could work in that interest.”
