Manjimup Marlins’ Taizley Krispyn has taken home five medals from the recent Swimming WA Junior Short Course Championships.

She won two golds in the 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle, as well as bronze medals in the 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle events, all in the 11-year-old age group.

Taizley said she had worked on her freestyle prior to the event and it was the most gold medals that she had won at the Short Course Championships during her swimming career.

Her coach Hyo Jin Son said she was proud of Taizley’s effort, especially as they could not train from April to May.

“We trained lots of breakouts and turns,” she said.
