Manjimup Rovers make it three wins from three games with 5-3 victory over Bunbury Dynamos

The Manjimup Rovers made it three wins from three games on Sunday with a come from behind victory over Bunbury Dynamos.

The Manjimup side trailed for much of the match at Forrest Park but stormed home to win 5-3.

The Rovers once again played with 10 players and the Dynamos were able to break the deadlock early on, with a flat cross ball getting through the defence and being tapped in.

Not too long after, the Dynamos doubled their lead when a through ball was hit well from just inside the box.

The Rovers knew there was plenty of time to get back into the match and their passing game picked up, with Tom Anstey getting the score to 2-1 before Taj Smith put one in the top corner to level the scores at the half.

Going into the second half the Rovers were full of confidence, and with the added bonus of kicking with the wind, were intent on creating opportunities to score.

Rovers had a good period of attack without success, but the Dynamos were able to get a turnover and stream forward with numbers to regain the lead.

With 20 minutes on the clock, Manjimup were handed a lifeline through an own goal, before Smith scored again to give the visitors a 4-3 lead, before Brad Loney netted the last.

The men’s team is back at home next week against the Harvey Hawks, while the women’s team host Busselton after their bye.
