Lower South West Football League president David East has assured football lovers plans for the 2021 season are being put in place.

“We’ve had meeting with presidents and the clubs and the status is that we are going ahead full bore for next season,” he said.

“This year was a one off hopefully and next year we plan to come back bigger and stronger than ever.”

The league is planning to host a lightning carnival prior to the competitive fixtures next season.

“The main reason for that is to get all the clubs together, we’ll have the games and then have a barbecue and drinks after, just so everyone gets together before the start of the season,” Mr East said.

Mr East said football was an integral part of the community and hoped that Manjimup and other communities involved in the LSWFL would get behind the competition.

“People that have been associated with the footy, especially the boys and the supporters, have missed football as a social outing and it’s something that we’ve certainly missed this year.”

“We’re excited about next year, we’re looking forward to it, all the club presidents are making necessary plans to go forward and we support it 100 per cent.

“We hope the public get behind us ... we’re ready to go.”
