Multi-million road paves way for new industry in Port Hedland

Upgrades to the entrance road of the Boodarie Strategic Industrial Area in Port Hedland have now been completed.
The Boodarie SIA covers 4000ha of land zoned for “strategic industry” in the Hedland area.
Lands Minister John Carey said the upgrade to the Boodarie SIA access road would ensure the growth of the economy and jobs in the Pilbara.
““This was a shovel-ready infrastructure project that has delivered a critical intersection upgrade to the standard required for future heavy industrial development,” he said.
“The road upgrade has provided central access to the estate and will facilitate investment opportunities for future proponents, delivering on the State’s commitment to make SIAs project ready to attract investment and diversify the economy.”
Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan said Boodarie’s proximity to the port made it a key strategic area.
“Future expansion of Boodarie SIA could also play a major role in the development of our hydrogen hub in the Pilbara,” Ms MacTiernan said.
There are 13 SIAs located throughout WA designed to support investment in the downstream processing of the State’s resources and other strategic industrial activities.
